Mr. Badger …how are you ?

Mr. Badger how are you
standing in the autumn dew?
Do you have a place to go
when cold north winds begin to blow?
I see you wear your winter coat;
carry a fine new hat and leather tote -
Oh, Mr. Badger do you have a place to rest
with room enough for winter quests?
Stopping by to warm their toes
tracking through the heavy snows?
Oh, the river slows now
the ice sets in -
Go I must, but shall return
when spring blossoms come again -

i hope you don’t mind me repeating myself – i just love the way you write. those children poems, the simplicity and fullness of it.
great inspiration and great envy
Thank you much Dhyan, most of the time my mind is somewhere in the woods with all these creatures and I get to go back to a simpler place when I write them. I am glad you enjoy them — take care
We keep coming back to check on Mr. Badger, but he seems to be doing well.
Another wonderful piece, barbara, and well worth the second/third/fourth look!
Geoff & E, on the Winter Solstice
Geoff, i broke down and wrote something new on Soul Intention — I could not help it — but I need to write something for Mr. Badger.
I know Mr. Badger has been here all by himself for awhile. Been very busy with Christmas — have not had much time to think about much else.
As soon as it is over, I will make sure Mr. Badger has some company. —–
I am so Happy Winter Solstice is here, the days start getting longer — that is the best Christmas Present Ever —-
Take Care Geoff and “E” — I will get busy writing again soon —
Barbara, I love this poem so much! It really has a strong pull, a way of making the reader (well, me, personally) care for the character in it. That’s always a plus, in any poem or story.
Another of my favorites among your poems.
Have a blessed new year, dear. Cheers.
Thank You so MUCH S.L. —
Mr. Badger has lived in my mind for many years now, I had to give him his rightful place. I met him once in the woods of Minnesota where I grew up. I said Hello, but did not shake his hand — his claws were a bit long.
Happy New Year to you also, I am looking forward to year of reading all the goods works of the many talented people I have met here.
